Drop-In Choir

Daytime Drop-In Choir – Want to sing? Come drop-in any Friday morning!

We’re back on Friday, September 6, 2024.

If you’re just looking for a place to sing – no matter your skill level – come try out Cheryl’s Daytime  Drop-In Choir to get a bit more singing and to let your voice soar.  The group will rehearse at storefrontstudio (6324 106 Street NW, Edmonton), where we’ve been able to rent space, thanks in part to Sound Opportunity Friends Association.  The Drop-In Choir was originally founded by Eva Bostrand, former Artistic Director of A Joyful Noise Choir.  Cheryl Balay took over the Drop-In operations in the fall of 2016.

With professional instruction and accompaniment, this group sings for 90 minutes a week exploring transferable choral skills, strengthening good vocal technique, discovering new repertoire with a healthy dose of supported sight-singing and just having fun singing and learning.  There are no performances and no ongoing commitments.  Be present in the moment. Sing away your stress.  It’s a drop-in experience – the choral equivalent of a pond-hockey pick-up game where everyone is welcome.

Your first session is free, so come try us out!  Then it’s an annual $50 administration fee plus $10 per drop-in session.

Rehearsals run from September through May with a short break over Christmas holidays and no rehearsal on Good Friday.
